Within the framework of the 5th shift of the Republican Eco-Festival "Ecotime", the 1st group arrived for an excursion to the branch of the "Fisheries Scientific and Production Center" in the city of Balkhash. This day turned out to be very educational and impressive for the young participants. The staff of the branch introduced the children to the fish species raised here, providing detailed explanations, and most importantly, allowed them to observe with their own eyes how these fish live, behave, and adapt to their environment. Furthermore, the children showed great interest in the crayfish. Watching how they move, what they eat, and how they interact with other underwater inhabitants left a strong impression on the children. During the excursion, the children received valuable information about the current ecological state of Lake Balkhash. They were explained that preserving fish stocks is not just an economic task but primarily an environmental responsibility. The scientists demonstrated with concrete examples what methods they use to increase the fish population in the lake (artificial insemination, rearing fry, and releasing them into the wild). The special role of crayfish as natural cleaners of water bodies was also highlighted. For the children, this excursion became a vivid example of how science, production, and care for nature can work together. Such meetings as part of the "Ecotime" festival help shape the environmental awareness of the younger generation, increase their interest in protecting water resources and living creatures, and help them understand that everyone can contribute to this common cause.
